Any solicitors around?

I contacted my solicitor 5 months ago asking to draw up a deed of trust for my property in favour of my children. He admitted he had never done this before but would take advice from colleagues. Should it really take this long?

I think you know it shouldn't take this long op. I'd raise it with the partners of the firm to see what's going on.

Definitely chase it up. Our solicitor is the slowest in the world - and totally snowed under with work - but it only took around 6 weeks for her to do two powers of attorney and get them lodged with the right authorities.

Sounds like your solicitor has filed it in the "too hard, can't be arsed" folder.

No. Not at all. He's forgotten or doesn't know how to do it so hasn't asked.

Contact the partners at the firm and ask for an update. Have you already paid ?

No J haven't paid anything this far I contacted him after 3 months and he said he was busy gathering information so I gave him the benefit of the doubt but 5 months is now getting ridiculous
