Jobs & rental properties in Inverness

Hi all

I've been keeping an eye on the usual sites for jobs and rental properties in Inverness (and 5-10mile surrounds) for about five months now. I know it was over the UK winter so there will be less about (plus Christmas/holidays etc) however it seems on average that Inverness is 'quite light' for jobs and rental properties. Is this the norm all year long or low due to reasons listed above?

I can work in any level of administration for public sector and private so my job search is quite wide, as is location. Just not a lot has come up.

Can anyone advise?

I'm not terribly familiar with the rental market in Inverness, but I work in the public sector there and until very recently there was a jobs freeze within Highland Council. It has been lifted for some posts now so it's worth still keeping an eye on. There are plenty other public sector organisations here but I guess they're all feeling the pinch at the moment. Good luck in your search! Inverness is a lovely, buzzy little city and a fab place to live and work!

I’ll keep watchful kB and hopefully see a rise in number of vacancies over the next few months. We’re moving there in July.

Do you happen to know who the agencies in Inverness are that provide staff to public sectors?

Also if you didn’t mind, could you let me know who the other public organisations are (that you mentioned above)? Just so I can research there as well.

I’m so excited to be moving there! OH has family there so we’ll be staying with them for a bit (very short while) so it’s super important I manage to secure a role ASAP once we arrive and then hopefully find a rental soon after that.

Look at Highlife Highland, Scottish Natural Heritage, University of Highlands & Islands, Inverness College, Highlands & Islands Enterprise. Also Skills Development Scotland, SEPA etc.

As well as those MrsA mentioned, there's a large hospital and various other NHS facilities, and Scottish Water. Highland Council jobs are advertised on myjobscotland, I'm afraid I don't know how other PS jobs are advertised apart from the local press (Inverness Courier, Press and Journal) on a Friday.
