DS disgusted to discover that the 2019 exam timetable has already been published.

Think that knowing on the 14th May he'll be sitting Nat 5 French makes it all seem a bit too real...

At least the SQA always publish it really early Smile. Some of the English exam boards seem to leave it until the last possible minute. Hmm

That's been out for ages! :o

It's really handy to plan your holidays round. Apparently last year the Higher politics exam was really late on the schedule but it's middle of May this year and it's DS2s last exam. Means we can plan an early holiday since he will be finished school for ever.! Shock

Actually talking crap, Politics is at the end of April, his last exam will be H History on the 13th May.

PolkerrisBeach · 17/08/2018 15:59

This is my first time going through all this - oldest child just started S4. His last one is Computing which is something like the 22nd. First is Biology which is something like the 30th April.

Now let's hope that the prelims give him the almighty kick up the arse which he sorely needs.....

Fingers crossed then Polkerris :)

I have two 13 months apart so it's been a busy few years. DS2 only got his act together in the last few months of S5 so he is playing catch up but this time last year it was a bit strained. He's managed to finish s5 with 3 Highers and 6 nat 5s overall and has a solid plan for s6. It's not the end of the world for your DS if he doesn't produce the goods this year. We'd just got a bit complacent as DS1 wouldn't really study either and still generally manages to produce the goods. Hopefully Uni gives him a kick up the arse.

I was really excited to find it published so early! I was even more excited to find that DS’ exams would be done and dusted with a full week left before he goes back to school!

This was important because it is our 20th wedding anniversary next year at the end of May and DH and I had promised that we would go back to the place where we honeymooned. I’d assumed we would need to wait until the summer holidays, but nooooo, we will be there ON our anniversary and will leave DS home with the dog because he’ll be all done with his exams. Grin Grin Grin

Suppose I ought not be all about me, me, me and add that he has a nicely spread out exam timetable next year, unlike his Nat5s where he had a whole bunch back to back. Grin

Ds knew his exam dates while we were away in July. But gutted that I need to work the whole school year now as him and dh are planning a week away as he finishes early.

Hopefully he will study a bit more.

My DD is doing her Nat 5s this year and was excited to see her exam timetable! It's not too bad either, quite well spaced out apart from English and Chemistry (I think) which are one day after the other.

Superjaggy · 18/08/2018 14:35

Groovee I feel the same, DD has a week clear at the end of her exams and I'd love to be able to go away for a week after 😐

Groovee · 18/08/2018 17:26

It's such a pain @Superjaggy. Ah well. A week at home will be nice for me 😂

PolkerrisBeach · 18/08/2018 19:10

Superjaggy we're the same - he has English and Chemistry the Thursday/Friday then History and French on the following Monday/Tuesday.

That'll be a fun weekend.

Ah yes, DD has History too... and it's her birthday on the Sunday... at least there's space between the other 3 😕
