Just back from Aberdeen.
He seems to have settled in although it did get fraught at times. You could see lots of other parents following their offspring with that "I love you darling but at times I could throttle you" expression
He didn't want us to go into the flat with him until he had been in himself - which was understandable. He then couldn't work out how to get into his room
He could tell that at least 3 other flat mates were in already as he could see the food/kitchen stuff - but they all seemed to be asleep.
Eventually he accepted that one of us would need to help him we couldn't stand by the car forever - but so I went with him but he got it sorted (even if he did make me whisper
)
It was 9.45 by this point
He met one of his flat mates which seemed to help relax him stop him being a stroppy bugger who then started helping him decant stuff into the kitchen (up until them he was insisting on putting everything into his bedroom and complaining that I'd brought too much there wasn't enough room
). (I had already had to endure complaints like "Why did you buy me bleach"
)
Anyway, he was told by the one guy (who was from Dundee) that there were 2 guys from Edinburgh and the last one, that they hadn't met yet, was Polish.
After getting relatively sorted (only bit of "unpacking" I did in his bedroom was putting on his bedlinen which he actually appreciated
, as it meant he had somewhere to sleep tonight) we went to do the Lidl shop and had lunch with his cousin at Grub (which he's obsessed with
and plans to eat there regularly).
Our drive back down was uneventful. Got in to a message from ds saying that was in the flat. I asked if that was the Russian X from rugby (who'd left the club after years of Mini rugby together when they started secondary as he went off to a private school) and was that the "Pole"? Turns out it is
He's not met him yet - just his mum - but they used to be good friends (came to birthday parties etc).
Small world!

So that's 2 Weegies, 2 Edinburgers and 1 Dundonian in the flat.
