Moving to Nairn?

Hi all
First time on Mumsnet.
Currently thinking about moving to a town in the Highlands and think Nairn might be a good choice. Bit worried about how my children might cope as they have good friends just now, happy and settled in school etc.. Any advice about moving to this area, things to do, schools and housing in Nairn etc. Thanks!

I live in Inverness which isn't far from Nairn. Depends what you're looking for tbh. Nairn is pretty small. Lovely beaches though and cafes and stuff. But generally a small seaside town. Food shopping would be Tesco or Sainsbury's. There's a local bus and train service to Inverness or Aberdeen (and all places in between obviously) there's a couple of Facebook pages regarding Nairn. Add them and have a look

I live a bit further north than Inverness. Nairn is what it is. Small town on the main trunk road between Inverness and Aberdeen.
Beautiful beaches and nice enough wee town. Won’t have much choice about schools there are three primaries and one secondary which is the same as the town I live in. Don’t know what the situation with primaries is we just went to the one in catchment which is usual.
Where are you moving from?
