Good places to eat near Concert Hall in Glasgow

Hey, we’re going out in Glasgow to see something at the Concert Hall and I’m looking for recommendations for a nice place to eat nearby. I know there’s heaps of places to eat in that area of Glasgow so looking for a hidden gem instead of going somewhere obvious.

Thanks.

How close, what sort of budget? What style of food do you like?

We love Sarti's - 5 minutes away on a Bath Street (Bath Street one is better than the Wellington St one for evening meals). There is also one on Renfield Street. A very good Italian - great pizzas and pasta (especially the versions with their Tuscan sausage), but also good meat dishes, antipasti and risottos.

For pizza Paesano is great, which is near George Square or Babs (posh kebabs!) is also really good and a little closer to Concert Hall

I was going to suggest Sarti’s and Paesano too! 😂

If you like Ramen, try Ramen Dayo on Queen St, or for pub food, Rab Ha’s.

Another vote for paesano!

Thanks! We don't need anywhere fancy as we're just catching up with friends before the event but those suggestions are great, I'll have a look. We don't get out in Glasgow for dining so whilst we know the obvious chains there's so much to choose from.

Ardnamurchan on Hope St (I think!) is lovely Scottish food. Not too expensive and if I recall correctly a good value pre theatre. Good gin list too.

Ardnamurchan usually has good deals on 5pm.co.uk too Smile (although I've never been, hence why I couldn't recommend it Wink)

You’re all going to be disappointed with me!!

We walked past the Ardnamurchan and next time we get away to Glasgow as a couple we’ll definitely try there. Also Sarti’s looked good and I’ve got a day out with friends planned soon so we’re going to try there too. I can’t believe there are two just round the corner from each other.

However we ended up in Amerone simply because it was such a nice day and we don’t get many chances to eat outside and they had a table free as we walked past from the massive beer table on Gordon Street.

But thanks all for the recommendations.

Situbo - the original Sarti's was the one on Wellington Street and the Bath Street one was effectively an extension.

They are actually connected via the inside and the Wellington Street restaurant uses the loos in the Bath Street branch Confused - down the stairs, round the corner and then up the stairs Shock

Yiamas is amazing! Greek food and an open kitchen 😊

prettybird- I have made the mistake of going to the bathroom and reappearing in a different restaurant a few times in Sartis.

Excellent free entertainment Wink

Hi all. After ignoring all of your suggestions last time we managed an evening out in Glasgow and went to Sartis. It was lovely. We had drinks outside the Wellington Street one which isn't fancy but nice to get olives and table service and chat to other peoples dogs they'd brought along (they get a bowl of water if you ask). Then went to Bath Street for dinner which was lovely. We might go to Ardnamurchan for something in November as I'm going to see the Wee Ballet up that side of town.
