Crieff Hydro - any tips on booking?

Hi, trying to use a birthday voucher to book a couple of nights for a family of 5. Any tips on getting a good deal? Seems ludicrously expensive no matter when I try to book, for all accommodation options, and we are seasoned Centre Parcs-ers! Can't seem to find anything cheaper than almost £700, for 2 nights.

There was an Itison deal the other week, not sure if it's still on.

I go self-catering, which works out much cheaper, in the cozy cabins (Fri to Mon or Mon-Thu).

Avoid school holidays & bank holiday weekends.

We only ever got good deals when the DC were pre school. Going outwith school holidays and doing Tuesday to Thursday for example or even a Sunday, Monday is generally a better deal. Look for some of the DBB packages. The only time we managed when the DC were older was when they had a holiday at a different time from normal schools. You also might need to go quite far in advance if your voucher lasts a while.

It’s a pretty expensive hotel tbh OP.

They also have a sister hotel, the Murraypark, also in Crieff and you may be able to use he Hydro facilities, might be worth inquiring if you could use your voucher there? It's maybe also that there are 5 of you so your room options are reduced?

Thanks all. Yes we did stay there self- catering when dc1 was a toddler, which was reasonable. We are unfortunately restricted to school holidays now and even self catering seems v expensive. I know loads of people who go, who are not known for splashing out, so I'm surprised at prices

Ooo no tips but I am jealous, love it there but live in Kent so it’s a bit of a trek. I booked on booking.com. Cheapest by far. Don’t know if that helps!

We usually get a really good deal in the winter self catering. When does your voucher expire?

Oh and we had dinner in the murraypark a couple of times it seemed lovely.

Interesting, it's one of the cheapest breaks of its kind that we have been on - miles cheaper than CP or McDonald Aviemore etc. Maybe that only applies to non-school holiday times? The childcare makes it a million percent worth every penny

What ages are the 5 of you? We stayed in an executive studio with our son. It has a double sofa bed downstairs and a double bed upstairs with room for a cot. Wouldn't be the most spacious but you could possibly all squeeze in? They have their own parking spaces and are located at the entrance to the hotel right between the playpark and horse riding centre which we found ideal.

I think it does massively hike prices for school holidays Classic. Center Parcs is way cheaper. 1 nursery age, 2 school age, but when you search for options you can select hotel and self catering and we're still not finding anything maneagable. I'll keep playing around with dates. Thanks all.

Sometimes Sunday nights are cheaper even if Monday is a Public holiday

The hydro is just very expensive.

I would phone up because it may be that the online system is charging you more for children than you need to pay as you can get family rooms etc and deals where kids are free they just pay for food. I think i remember an offers part of the website?

We managed to get a cosy cottage for the first week of the October holidays for £284! We must be one of the few local authorities that still have 2 weeks, the following week it more than doubles in price. We are going Monday to Friday.

We are having a family gathering there in the summer and its £1600 for a 3 bedroomed lodge. It's a treat from our parents thankfully.
