More snow - Easter Monday

More snow forecast for Easter Monday, late afternoon / early evening in central Scotland. They're saying over high ground only, but that's what they said last time....

M8 at Harthill, M74 and M77 could all be a bit hairy. Kids gutted as it's the holidays and there will be no snow days even if it's awful!

might not come to anything tho, central scotland has snow forecast yesterday and apart from a light shower about 11pm last night there was nothing here

WickedGoodDoge · 01/04/2018 13:16

I see we have a yellow warning for Tuesday. I refuse to believe it.

ILoveMyLanyard · 01/04/2018 14:42

I will have a toddler tantrum if I see one more flake of snow. I am also refusing to believe it.

TimesNewRoman · 01/04/2018 15:04

Fantasises about visitors having to cancel and DH getting a snow day ...

MsHomeSlice · 01/04/2018 15:07

we had a lot overnight on the hills...they have a decent covering, and dh just came in and said it was snowing. Actually three flakes fell, but it is very cold and clear here.

WaxOnFeckOff · 01/04/2018 21:51

We were suppose to be travelling to the Lake District tomorrow down the M80/M74 and M6 and we've just decided to miss one night and head down Tuesday am instead. Bit of a shame but would rather do that than get stuck on the motorway behind a jack-knife lorry for 5 hours. We'd be driving straight into it and have some small farm type roads to drive on when we get down there.

Given that DH was out driving through all the red warning snow (ambulance driver) so it's not that he is generally a wus.

Sturmundcalm · 02/04/2018 07:59

forecast shifted for us from heavy to light snow and from 10am to 2pm start. however, i've just pulled on my walking gear to go up the hill and the snow has started... v light but still!

FleurDelacoeur · 02/04/2018 08:02

Gritters are an endangered species around here - we are down a culdesac which they never treat. Ever. So in the last snow it was up to us and our neighbours to dig ourselves out. Need to head out for shopping - think I'll go earlier rather than later!

But with temperatures of 8-12C for the rest of the week, even if it does snow it won't last long.

Where are you roughly sturmund?

StealthPolarBear · 02/04/2018 08:05

We've got snow in county Durham.

Sturmundcalm · 02/04/2018 08:06

20miles west of Glasgow - and we just had a yellow warning so was starting to hope it wouldn't come to anything! have had enough snow this year...

WaxOnFeckOff · 02/04/2018 08:10

That's but a bit earlier than the forecast i think. I agree it won't hang about long but hoping we've made the right decision to postpone travel until tomorrow.

IHaveBrilloHair · 02/04/2018 08:13

Snow here down the Clyde from glasgow

WaxOnFeckOff · 02/04/2018 08:23

Just seen the forecast and it's to be snowy over the lakes till early afternoon but snowy here (Stirling) until late afternoon/early evening followed by rain. Now looking nice for Thursday and rain coming in again on Friday.

vickibee · 02/04/2018 08:28

We are in S Yorks, near woodhead pass and it is thick and fast here, about 4 inches since 5am.

weebarra · 02/04/2018 08:29

I'm currently in the North Lakes - drove down from Edinburgh on Saturday. It's sleeting a bit but definitely more rain than snow.

blueskyinmarch · 02/04/2018 08:30

There had better not be snow today. DH has to get from Fife to Glasgow to collect my new car (4x4 thankfully) then pick up DD2 from Edinburgh airport then home. All this afternoon.

The Beast meant DD2 couldn't come home a few weeks ago, i don't want that to happen again. She broke her arm skiing - i need her home to look after her!!

Sevendown · 02/04/2018 16:44

I didn’t see snow but it was bloody freezing out today!

FleurDelacoeur · 02/04/2018 17:01

5pm and not so much as a flake in Glasgow!

It’s been snowing all afternoon in West Lothian but fortunately it’s not lying. I’m really hoping nothing lies overnight because I’m in a little campaign group fighting certain Council cuts- there’s a special Council meeting to discuss it tomorrow and we need people to attend!

WickedGoodDoge · 02/04/2018 18:07

Oh God, I’ve gone and fucking jinxed it. It’s now lying. Sad It has until lunchtime tomorrow to go away!

IHaveBrilloHair · 02/04/2018 18:19

It didn't stay around for long here, but it's ruddy freezing!
Electric blanket on tonight.

StoorieHoose · 02/04/2018 18:32

That’s the snow started in Stirling. Well more sleety than snow hopefully won’t come to anything

WaxOnFeckOff · 02/04/2018 18:42

I must be more north Stirling than you stoorie still rain here.:) Forecast now not looking good for tonight/tomorrow - wishing we'd gone today now!! Aaaarrrrgghhh!!

Suppose I better go pack anyway!

Sevendown · 02/04/2018 19:03

It’s been snowing here now for a while.
