Only started looking for a sunny October holiday last night and the hotels I was recommended are full flying from Scotland. Is everyone else in the country just more organised??

Looking for guaranteed sunshine, beach, kids pool & playpark. All Inclusive with a couple of restaurants on site. 7-10days, max £800 per person. Any ideas?

Wanted to fly from Scotland as we’ll already have to fly from Shetland and overnight before we catch flights.

Oh and we can’t go until the 17th October due to dh’s shifts.

How strange!

Are they maybe not released yet rather than fully booked?

I hope you are right!

Don't think October can be booked up yet. I suspect it's not fully released yet. If you are looking for recommendations we went to blue lagoon resort in kos town in kos, greece( there are 2 in kos, I'm not sure what the one in the south is like). It was great, all inclusive, 5 restaurants, several pools, and an on site water park. It varies a lot in price going up and down a lot but we were less than 700 pp from Glasgow.

We've booked ours ;-)

I think the problem is that when you're looking at October there is only a week off so there's a very limited departure window if you don't want the kids to miss school. We had to look at flights leaving Friday/Saturday/Sunday and not returning too late the following Sunday to make it work. Many destinations were not available on those days - from memory we could have gone to Fuerteventura or Lanzarote, but not Tenerife or Gran Canaria as the flights for those are midweek.

There is of course the option to travel south to Manchester, Liverpool or Newcastle for cheaper flights or more availability, we've done this in the past and it can be worth it but not always. Or book flights with EasyJet and organise your own accommodation.

Thanks for the recommendation, looks great!

Our kids get 2 and a half weeks off!
