Relocating to Renfrewshire and know noone

Hi,
We are relocating to Bridge of Weir FROM Edinburgh tomorrow to be closer to DHs work. I am going to be a sahm for at least a year until the children (DD3/DS1) are settled though I'm a chemistry teacher normally. Any info on things to do in the area etc would be amazing! DD starts preschool at the primary after the October holidays in an afternoon place so particularly need morning activities I guess, happy to drive to find things (in particular ballet and swimming)

On-X in Linwood is great for swimming. There are 3 pools including a warm shallow pool with water features and flumes. I can't help with ballet but there are preschool gymnastics classes at On-X called Gym Joeys. I took DS for almost a year when he was two, and he loved them.

There's a really nice playgroup called Tots' club at the Church of Scotland in Kilbarchan on a Monday morning. Aimed at under 3s but older children welcome. There are probably other ones in Bridge of Weir, Houston etc, but I never investigated those.

For ideas a bit further afield, I really like this website for suggestions of places to go in the West of Scotland. A few of which I would probably never have found otherwise! www.glasgowwithkids.co.uk
