Suggestions for a restaurant voucher in Glasgow?

W are going to a wedding soon and the B&G (mature couple) have said no gifts/money as they have everything they need.

We feel we can't go empty handed regardless so thought maybe a voucher for a meal or afternoon tea or something as that would be neither a physical thing to clutter up or money. The don't live in Glasgow but near enough and they work in the city I think.

Anyone any suggestions of somewhere nice that does this that isn't ££££. maybe something in the region of £50-70.

Or any ideas of suitable gifts would be good too.

Loads of places in town do afternoon tea, that would be a lovely gift.

Itison do some great vouchers, some have overnight stays too and they aren't very expensive.

Thanks Shelly, someone else said that to me but I think it would be a bit "cheap" looking to do a discount voucher as a wedding gift if that makes sense?

I'd looked at the Blythswood Poppy it loos nice. A bit puzzled that Afternoon tea is more expensive than lunch though. Do you know anyone that has been?

I've been to the Blysthwood for both lunch and Christmas afternoon tea - both good although sandwiches are sandwiches!

Rogano is a posh fish restaurant in the city centre. Gamba is fab if they like fish.

If they're more "foodie" then 111 By Nico or Six by Nico or Cail Bruich - all in the west end.

Thank you Skyllo I don't actually know them that well. It's DHs relative and his partner, she seems lovely, he is a dick not our cup of tea. Family is family though and it would cause ructions if we didn't go and they were kind enough to invite us so....

I'll have a look at those options and see if we can make a choice based on what the meal is at the wedding! Think from memory there is a fish starter but no fish main course but I could be wrong.

Shelly bit of a mad question, but when you buy a voucher from itison etc, is it clear that that's where it's been bought or does it just look like a normal voucher for the place you've purchased it for? I'd still be spending the same but they'd just get more for the money but I don't want it to look as if I am trying to get a gift on the cheap.

That's the kind of thing that would be brought up/be frowned upon. I can't say it would bother me personally though.

I don't think itison looks cheap, but they can be restrictive when you can use them (e.g. weekday before 6pm) or they have a short expirey date.

The Corinthian is gorgeous.

Aww that's a shame. It's printed from their website not the actual restaurant. Might give you some ideas though, I get loads of these as gifts and love them. I always say the best gifts are making memories now as we have everything we need.
The blythswood it grand central might be your best bet, they are both lovely and do their own vouchers.

Thought they might match well with an afternoon tea voucher or would it be too tacky?

This place is very nice, it's a small family run business and the food is excellent. We go for the pre theatre when it's 3 courses for £20, the Sunday lunch is the same price.

So £60 -70 would get them a nice meal and drinks on the set menus .

Thanks Kr1stina and everyone else. Still not ordered it. DS1 is heading off today for his DofE gold so last night was fairly busy!

Once he's gone we can get organised and get it ordered.

Can I suggest Cail Bruich on Great Western Road, next to Oran Mor. Its a lovely wee restaurant - dh and I go there for anniversaries etc, and your budget would be fine for lunch or pay for a chunk of dinner.
