Scottish family lawyer recommendations

Hello, I wondered if anyone would be able to make a recommendation of an excellent lawyer in Scotland for a family friend who is about to have to enter in to what looks likely to be a really nasty divorce and custody battle. It would also be useful to know of anyone who accepts legal aid cases as she has also unfortunately just lost her job, just when things couldn't get any worse... North East based but any region considered!! Thank you very much in advance.

Personally, I'd avoid Beverly Johnson. My ex had her, and she ran him up a £20k bill quite unnecessarily, whereas I only spent £2k. She was very combative and would keep putting together hopelessly unfair agreements that there was zero chance of me signing, and charging my ex a lot for drafting them. Eventually I persuaded my ex to change lawyers. I felt all our money would likely go to her otherwise. Divorce was much more amicable thereafter, and fair to both of us.

I used Fraser Shepherd in Falkirk. They were brilliant and tried to save me as much money as possible. I really don't think they charged me for everything they did. Ask for Leigh Harris.

On the flip side, my ex used Kerr Stirling and they charged him a fortune. I almost felt sorry for him :-0
