Ok fellow Scots. We are meant to be voting tomorrow except I have a problem. I don't really like any of them and don't have a clue who to vote for. Do I not vote, vote the least bad or destroy the paper in some sort of crappy protest? (I may be attending the booth a little tiddly as I have an exam first thing and am going to the pub after 😊)

Vote for whoever you like as long as it's not the bloody SNP. Or that "rise" crowd.

I'm not going to tell you who to vote for - but I would recommend that you do at least go along and exercise your democratic right. Dh used to spoil his vote, writing "None of the above" - but changed his view having been doorstepped by an up and coming politician who stayed and argued with him on the close landing for half an hour back in 1997, despite the fact that at the time she wasn't thought to have a chance.

If you are interested in belatedly finding our which party reflects your views mostly closely, then Scotvote seems to be quite accurate.

I was happy that it came up as strongly minus for both UKIP and the Tories - and despite what some people on Mumsnet might think, I'm not a brainwashed cult follower and am happy to be voting SNP (matrix showed strongly SNP, with Green also up there, with a bit of Labour).

I voted Labour in 1997 but never since.

Haven't decided yet but definitely not SNP.

I did the scot vote thing and it was a bit undecided. Like you Tory ann ukip firmly in the red but green and SNP and Lin dem were all pretty high too I'm confused and I have to say a bit downhearted with politics in general. Being run by a party none of us like in Westminster really gets my goat so I suppose it should be SNP. Labour are a mess and I don't trust the lib dens although agree with some of their policies. I'm so confused

It's a hard one I do agree but you should vote. There are still many hours to go so if you have the time have a quick look at main bullet points of each parties manifesto.
DH is just about to leave for work and will vote Green on the regional vote but as yet has no idea who to vote on the constituency (though out of the 4 options he knows which one he won't be voting for).

I've done that scotvote thing and got highest for Labour then Tory, then Lib but it was a weak match for them all and not much between them. UKIP was also a weak match but lower down. Got negatives for Green and SNP.

Probably accurate enough :) and I voted Labour x2 so that's just as well.

I voted before coming in to work this morning.

I have just done the Scotvote quiz and obviously my political views are very confused. I had no high matches. SNP, Labour and LibDems all tied for top spot with a "weak" score of 23! Luckily I did actually vote for one of these...

Euphemia I think a lot of us feel the same. I have voted SNP in the past - but after last year NEVER again - I honestly shudder to think the state we would be in by now if the vote had gone the other way.

How many others were cheering Ruth Davidson's win and simultaneously thinking what am I doing...

I'm glad we're back to coalition politics, I wanted it that way and voted SNP/Green.

My dd1 voted for the first time yesterday (she was 16 in feb) and was delighted as she had voted the same as me (we adamantly refused to tell her our votes ahead of time, for which we were made to feel most unreasonable!) and she feels her votes really counted as we got an SNP constituency MSP and a Green was voted in on the list.

Also glad we're back to coallition politics - no overarching deals, just talking to each other and perhaps even making the odd compromise. We can but hope. I didn't vote SNP and can't imagine I ever would, but I thought Nicola did well in her speech in Edinburgh today - inclusive, and not at all smug.

Anyone else think the Conservative campaign has been the ultimate in 'shy Tories'? Their leaflets (at least the ones I had through my door) didn't even mention the word Conservative let alone any policies, they just consisted of photos of a random bunch of white people telling us why they were voting for Ruth Davidson.

I don't think we watched the same speech then. I was watching President Sturgeon.

I don't know what Labour will do. In one sense the SNP is promising everything Labour can but the SNP claim their hands are ultimately tied by nasty old Westminster. Thankfully the SNP however can't get the support for independence. Sturgeon can be as dismissive as she likes but she can't ignore there must be a helluva lot of first time "Tory" voters.

The Scottish Tories if they ever got into power at Holyrood could move Scottish Tories to the left by actually using the existing powers which the SNP don't use.

Traditional Scottish Tory voters might not like that but a left leaning Tory party would still be their least worst choice and clearly at the moment, despite the SNP telling them how stupid and feart and wrong they are, there are plenty of Unionists around.
