Im taking my daughter to see disney on ice next sunday and i was wondering if anyone knew if i could take drinks/snacks for her? I need to take a changing bag but it says on the website that no large bags or backpacks are allowed (hers is a small hello kitty backpack) when i read the faqs it stated that no glass, cans or hot drinks are allowed in then further down it said if i have a medical conditon can i take a drink in with me and the answer was yes as long as its still sealed when the security check it. I was going to call them but the phonelines are closed at the weekend except for bookings. (planning to take small pack of raisons some crisps and a fruit shoot)

I've never been but it sounds as if what you are suggesting will be fine. Just be prepared with some cash in case they make you bin stuff though.

I will be taking cash with me hoping that it will be ok as its for a small child, i dont mind buying myself juice once inside.

They won't let you take drinks in, although I think you could take a sealed bottle of water in.

I suspect they'll sell kids snacks inside though, given the show. Different if it was baby food.

We went to the Doctor Who symphonic thing a while back and I had a couple of bottles of juice in my bag and some sweets. They didn't even check our bags.

I think they are probably less strict for family events as opposed to "proper" where there is a likelihood of people throwing cans/ glass.

They won't let you take a bottle in to the arena, as it can be used as a missile (apparently!). They will decant into a plastic cup for you. Or you can just buy something there, there are plenty of wee kiosks inside the Hydro.

Im going to phone tomorrow morning to make sure, i hope that because its a kids show they will allow me to take a small fruit shoot in, if not then its ok i can always buy something in there. I hope nobody throws things around haha

She is getting investigated for diabetes so i dont know if that changes anything?

Amy, could you put the bottle in your DDs pocket? I don't think they would frisk her and I'm really sure she wouldn't be using it as a missile :)

We went to Strictly at the Hydro and took sweets. We were asked to open drinks bottles and leave the cap at security. There are plenty of options for buying inside, both vending machines and kiosks.

Onemagnumisneverenough she has 2 pockets in her jumper i could always hide something in the other one (she does throw things when they are finished so i wouldnt be surprised to see her lobbing it at someones head 😂)

Lunaloveg00d you can take the lid off a fruit shoot but they have a sippy top and a cap aswell so should that be ok? I cant really see her drinking it without the sippy top she would spill it all over herself

Stick a spare lid in your pocket?

i'm guessing the theory being that if you threw it when full without a lid it'd be less of a missile as the weight (liquid) would come out as it flew through the air, whereas with the lid on it says heavy.

Onemagnumisneverenough i never even thought of that lol i'll get her to drink one before we go and keep the lid, i can understand why they want you to remove the lids but hopefully no one throws a bottle at mickey mouse haha

My boys were just about past the Peppa age when she came onto the scene, we had tellytubbies and Bob the builder etc.

My youngest when about 2 or 3 used to wake us all up every morning with a rendition of "Bob the Builder, tan he fikst it?, Bob the Builder, yes he tan!!" sung at the top of his voice as soon as he woke up. So you'd just be lying sleeping and all of a sudden...it would echo through the whole house. :o Very cute in retrospect - not so much at the time. He's nearly 15 now and loves to be reminded of it....:o

Your lucky georges whiny cry is annoying bob the builders changed and so has noddy they are not how i remember my little one constantly oinks like peppa and barks at paw patrol cant wait to constantly remind her of things she done

If I can offer some advice, I know you are busy but try to find the time to write some of this stuff down somewhere. I always thought about it and always resolved to start doing it tomorrow. I have teenagers now and can only remember a few of these things because tomorrow never came - or rather it did come and it came far too fast :(

Ive been writing her letters since i was pregnant and have been building a memory box ever since, i got a memory blanket made from her old clothes aswell. I hate how fast shes growing up but i get excited to see her become the little character she is becoming and i look forward to what shes going to do with her life its very bittersweet

Aww that's lovely :) All I have is facebook posts from the last 5 years or so when they've done something funny :) And a loft full of their soft toys and school work.
