Kilts for toddlers

My son is a page boy at his uncles wedding in a couple of weeks, he'll be 21 months. Is kilt is all sorted but I've been asked to arrange shoes for him...

I'm struggling to find any smart type shoes for his age - any ideas where to try?
I'm happy to go for something a bit more fun too, maybe a black high top or dr Martin...but not sure the bride would be up for that!

Have you tried the obvious places, like John Lewis or Clarks? They don't need to be that smart, as people will be looking at 1) the bride and groom and 2) the cute wee page boy in his kilt - but not at his feet.

I've not tried John Lewis....ill do that now. Tried Clarks, Next, Debenhams etc.

I know the shoes aren't a big deal in the she me of things, but I'd like to turn him out nice!

Wow thanks!! He's a 4.5 at the moment but I'm thinking with the socks I should at least go up a half size!! I saw these but I'm not sure now as I like the kickers too...!

I might have posted ones that are too big then as I estimated from my boys when they were small - they started in a 5.5 at 12 months and were a 1 at age 5 so I guessed about an 8.

The kickers shoes (last of the kickers links) are a bargain at £20 odd in his size and although I really like the river island ones, the kickers ones look comfier. More padded at the heel.

Go into a hire shop to see if you can hire brogues? The kilt hire company do socks and shoes with their hires so may be able to be hired on their own

I suspect that the hire shop just didn't have any small enough hence the OP being asked to source her own. I've not been able to find Gillie Brogues that small - although these white Christening ones came up on ebay:

for yourself Lizzie? Kickers are great. We've used them as school shoes for years - perfectly acceptable to teenagers too and not any more expensive.

When DS was little he wore the kilt to a couple of weddings with shoes very similar to the black kickers ones that a PP linked to. They were still smart and tbh no one was looking at his feet.

All adorable ladies...thank you!! It's a grey modern tartan so I think we'll need to stick with black. I have a little tuxedo pajama set for the reception so he won't have the shoes on long, but he would def get use out of the kickers afterwards.
