We've been given the opportunity to move to Orkney which sounds all very exciting. Can anyone give any insights into living on Orkney Mainland with a young family? Pros and cons welcome. Thanks

Can't give any insights but do know that Orkney regularly tops the list in "Quality of Life" and Happiness charts.

HI. I am also planning on moving to Orkney in the next year, Which areas have you settled on and why? I am concerned about flooding at the moment....

Hi jessica we haven't settled on anywhere yet. As you may have already spotted the housing market is pretty slow and we haven't seen anywhere just right yet. We would like the Mainland if possible. How about you? SEPA have a flood risk map for Orkney if that helps?

Thanks, I will certainly have a look! Ideally we would also like mainland for job opportunities and also because our family live in North Yorkshire so asking then to get two ferries might be one step too far! When do you plan to move?
