Are there any Glasgow MNetters who could tell me how to get from Queen Street station to the 02 Academy?

Get the subway from Buchanan St to Bridge Street.

InkleWinkle · 24/10/2015 20:25

Right, that sounds easy enough. Is it just a few stops then? How much is it likely to be?

A few stops. There are only 15!

I think a return is £3.

InkleWinkle · 24/10/2015 20:33

All sounds OK then, thanks for your help guys.

If you're at something that runs late you won't be able to get the subway back though, I'm sure the last train is half 11 or thereabouts

BlueThursday · 24/10/2015 20:36

And Sundays are about 7pm!

Purplerunner · 24/10/2015 20:39

They usually have later trains if there is something on? I've definitely got the subway home after a concert.

Purplerunner · 24/10/2015 20:43

Upon checking, I may be talking rubbish (maybe my concerts finished before 11-30?) Lots of buses run past there towards city centre though.

BlueThursday · 24/10/2015 20:45

I'll be honest it's been a while since I've been On it so please check - I do remember being on the London one at night being in total awe of the lateness Grin

Purplerunner · 24/10/2015 20:47

No you are correct, I checked Grin

InkleWinkle · 24/10/2015 20:47

Don't worry. It's The Vamps, at 1pm in the afternoon. The joys of having an 11yr old DD????

Actually, may I muscle in and ask if there are any cheap hotels there, as in almost on site?

BlueThursday · 24/10/2015 20:56

There's a jury's just over the river or a euro hostel if you want very cheap. It's practically in the city centre so a good few hotels really

BlueThursday · 24/10/2015 20:57

There's a premier in the Gorbals isn't there? Near the mosque?

Purplerunner · 24/10/2015 21:02

Holiday Inn Riverside is probably the closest (a wee walk away, maybe 5-10 mins though not the nicest area), but to be honest you aren't far from city centre at all so anything there.

tilliebob · 25/10/2015 09:56

We're there on Thursday night but driving over from Fife. Are there decent car parks nearby, can anyone tell me? Grin

IHaveBrilloHair · 25/10/2015 10:33

I know the city center ones, I'll be in my wheelchair so was looking for practically next door.
I don't even want to go, I'm taking DD to see Bring me The Horizon next month, ouch, my poor ears.

prettybird · 25/10/2015 10:52

Car park right next door (park and ride for Bridge Street subway) but quite small.

Big car park at Shields Road subway (2 stops away) but iirc, only open when the subway is running.

tilliebob · 25/10/2015 18:56

Cheers pretty - I totally forgot we had these tickets and could well do without traipsing over to Glasgow this week. I bought the tickets for DH's birthday in May and hoped he'd take someone else!

InkleWinkle · 25/10/2015 23:30

Thanks again to every one, all worked well!!
