This is a bit of a long shot but....

Outlander EP 14 the search. Clare searching through highlands searching for Jamie. She is dressed in men's clothes and singing a lewd song , billed as the Sassenach. A gypsey givers her a message to head for Glen Rowan Cross ASAp.

We see her running up a red sandstone ramp carved into a natural overhang, it leads to a cave and some tunnels/rooms. Does anyone happen to know where this is - I can't find it and I've been googling for hours Sad

Never seen/heard of the programme, but looks like Robert the Bruce's cave at Kirkpatrick Flemming

It does look similar but I think the entrance is too high Sad

Have heard of the programme, but not seen it. It's possible likely that the exterior shots were taken in a different location to the interior/cave shots, so the place doesn't really exist, iyswim.

(From my experience taking part in a "factual" documentary which, er, elided facts, and watching various episodes of Rebus where going through a tenement door takes you to a totally different part of town.)

It's particularly the exterior that I want to find - looks like an awesome place to go for a walk Smile

This may sound odd, but that bit looks like the bit underneath Skipton castle where the river is... after what hirples said, I suppose it could well be shot elsewhere.

Not at all odd! Knowing my luck, its not even in the UK. I'm pretty sure the interior used in the scene is inside the lime kilns at Charlestown, but I cant for the life of me identify the exterior.

You could ask VisitScotland?

BlueThursday · 12/10/2015 03:40

How about tweeting the actors? You might get a reply

Redglitter · 12/10/2015 03:48

It'll be in the UK it'll be in Scotland. I think the entire season one was filmed in Scotland at all kinds of locations. Try asking in one of the Outlander FB groups (avoid the Outlander Series one with 40k members though)
