Permanent exclusions

Just wondering what the situation is in other authorities. Our HT claims that he can't permanently exclude any child, according to our LA's guidelines. We currently have a P6 pupil who is excluded for a day or two on an almost weekly basis and is now becoming a danger to the safety of other children.

A family I knew, we're stuck in the school the child was in before they found another school to take him. They had to have an interview with the head with his parents present and sign a code of conduct. It ok months before another head was willing to accept them.

Best place to find out is your LA.

I've looked on their website but can't find out exactly what I want to know, A friend teaches in another school in the LA and her head does lots of exclusions. Maybe ours doesn't want to admit we have behaviour problems and thinks it will look better for the school.

Tbh i'd rather see a school's figures that show they exclude as it makes me think they do something about behaviour issues, rather than sweep them under the carpet.
