Hi all. Namechanged for this.

We currently live in Dennistoun and always said we'd never move, but thinking about schools and we might have to eat our words. Everyone looks shellshocked when we ask them about schools here. Primary is obviously our immediate concern but it's not so long until we have to start thinking about secondaries too.

Is it as dire as it seems? I think we'd realistically be St D's catchment, but I like the musical ethos of St A's. Do school tours exist up here?

In Dennistoun I'd recommend Golfhill Primary, great Head Teacher and benefits from being part of a campus.

And yes you can visit schools in advance!

Denominational schools for us. Are you local? Any views on the two I mentioned?

Yes I'm local. Have some knowledge of St D, I wasn't too impressed myself but I visited several years ago. Would really recommend visiting yourself, just contact the school and they will arrange it.
