Where should we live?

Looking for somewhere nice to live. Prefer rural/village i think because we are very rural at the moment. Dc are currently at tiny school.

Need to be within an hourish of Glasgow. Also with 2 hours of Oban and preferably within an hour of Helensburgh!

Have considered around Buchlyvie, Balfron, Doune, Dunblane, Callander, Aberfoyle, Gartmore, Helensburgh, Cove, Kilcreggan. Any opinions on these afe very welcome.

Any other suggestions? Good schools important but also would like a nice detached 3/4 bed house for 250k max.

I know a few people in Balfron who are very happy there. It seems to have a real community spirit, and they seem happy with the school too
