Who got a LIDL saver card thingy through the door today?

Thought I'd post here as it says it's exclusive to Scotland stores.

What's it all about? I assumed it was just a normal saver card e.g. you scan it at the till and ask the checkout person to pop the odd £1 on it.

But it says it expires in October?

Does anybody have any clue? It says further information is available in store but that's a wee bit of a trek for me. I only go once a fortnight to stock up on their cat litter, but prefer to shop at Asda for everything else (using the Price Guarantee works out better for me).

Just wondering really.

I did, and I also picked up the leaflet when I was in store. You can use it until 28th October.

This week's offer is to spend £25 and you get £5 off. Valid till 26th August. I think the guy said that you get a voucher, but not sure.

Ahhh so it's not a savings card? It's more of a reward scheme then?

Thanks for clearing that up. The checkout person would have likely thought I was strange when i passed it over next time I was in and asked her to pop £5 on it for me Grin

Ha! It really wasn't well explained, I thought. The checkout guy said it was like a club card. I thought I'd misheard when he said £5 back for £20 spent - that is quite a big discount!

Not thru the door but I popped in today for nappies and somehow spent over £25 on other things bakery section, the guy at the till said I could take a card and I'd save £5.00 Smile I was quite surprised when he told me I didn't need to register my details anywhere.

Whilst we are talking lidl are all stores the same ie stock wise?

My local one is utter pish and always wonder why everyone says it's great

I go to my local Aldi so it's not as though I'm buying the brands

There's a few others a little bit away so just wondering if it's worthwhile paying those a visit or if they'll just be the same

DH used the card today when doing a big shop. Every time the till totted up £25 (3 times!) the cashier stopped and gave the discount, so £15 off. The last batch was £22-something and the cashier said did he want to grab another item to make it up to £25 but DH declined as the queue was getting long! The shopping included booze, and the discount applied to that too, they often don't.

Well impressed. Grin

My local Lidl is well stocked - I can do most of my weekly shop there and only need to go to Tesco/Sainsbury's every fortnight or so for luxuries like freshly squeezed orange juice, loose tea and coffee beans (and lately, milk because they pay a fairer price).

It's a really good loyalty scheme for the customers us - but I don't think it's been well thought through by Lidl. By not asking customers to register their card, they're getting no additional info beyond that which they'd have got via their tills anyway Hmm

they are definitely all different - we used to live mid way between two. One was filthy and had rubbish stock, the other was like shopping in Waitrose.

New offer, spend £40 and save £8. Still 20% saving.
