What do you do during the summer holidays?

The summer holidays are coming to an end and I’m finding it hard to fill the days and entertain my 5yo.

What does everyone do all day? I don’t want him to be bored, equally myself. I just feel like we have exhausted a lot of activities.

A mixture of family holiday, days out (museums, zoo, farms, dog walks, parks etc), clubs, holiday camps and playdates. We both work and have no family help.

A little boredom gives space for imagination.

Get his toys out and play make believe? If you've been out tons has he had much time to do that? Build dens, mega landscapes with his toys for his cars and teddies to explore?

Do kids ever tire of soft play??

We're having a chill day today cos just got back from holiday in England, tomorrow is park, then soft play, then ninja warrior (we brought subscriptions and then I damaged my foot so we couldn't go for weeks!) and then Sea Life on the Monday. Unfortunately we're finishing the holiday with my eldest having an operation

Kids need to be able to be content at entertaining themselves at home too.

Thanks. He is currently playing with toys. We have had a family holiday in the middle of the holidays.

We have had play dates, days out etc. He’s an only child so it may just be my guilt that makes me feel like we should be doing more.

We are away at the weekend so that might help, I don’t have any help and my husband works away so maybe I’m feeling a little burnout too 🙈

Its raining here but might stick on our wellies and go to the coast for a rainy walk.
