Hi my son used to live with his dad, but April 2024 he come to live with me(mum)
I don’t have no contact with his dad and neither dose his son no longer, in the past 18 months I’ve never received the holiday vouchers which I’m single parent and have all validation from UC when Harry started living with me and then claiming for him , I’ve never had a response from the school after a few times about asking over this , and his dad I believe is still getting them and using them … is this allowed to happen ? Even tho he has no contact with his son at all

I didn't think they were still happening.

They do still exist if DC has been getting free school meals. I got one for £20 to use over half term because foster child gets free school meals.

Oh good. I'm glad they still exist. They were a Godsend when I needed them.

So is it ok for his dad to still claim them even he he doesn’t have nothing to do with his son, I know his dad is house bound and has a special bed in the living room as he is now over 50 stone and I can understand he needs extra food because of keeping up with the weight but am I wrong in thinking it’s wrong of him to keep cashing them in and spending on himself

I get them for my youngest daughter every time via email but haven’t had nothing for my son in 18 months and it’s been very hard and stress full and going to beg for help to feed my children I feel ashamed at my age (47) doing this ! 😭x but some times I just don’t have no choice , I feel embarrassed as I’ve always provided for my 6 children my self and due to no fault of my own I had to give my job up at the end of 2023 due to I couldn’t move my arm and have no grip in my hand due to my discs in the back of my neck were trapping my nevers , I had to wait 72 weeks to been seen by a spinal surgeon? I rang 3 times to see if I can get seen quicker but the last time I rang I was crying and begging them and was scared with having no ability to move my right upper side, 16 weeks before I finally got seen to then get a phone call next day saying my symptoms were an emergency,
I couldn’t do hardly any think in agony and was very depressed due to this with having to provide for my children and couldn’t no longer do my job ,and was struggling more than ever

Not much help at the moment but get in touch with his school and ask as soon as they re-open.

If your son would be classed as Pupil Premium due to low income, they would coordinate this.

You would receive the email from school advising when vouchers due and their value. Summer vouchers due in approx 6 weeks to England & Wales. It is importamt to check they have your email and uptodate mobile when you speak also.

I havent read every thread but this should be an easy fix of you do the above and you are still entitled to them. I hope you did same for Child Benefit (I understand it protects your NIC contribution years but that is a diffetent topic).

When I did go see my surgeon I had to have straight away a cat scan and a xray and with in a week I had another mri scan as my first one 72 weeks before was bad but carrying on doing my best to get through the iron vet I made my neck and nervs more damage I was operated with a month 2 weeks late I had my post op and I was put down as EMERGENCY!

I have damage nervs now due to waiting all that time and carrying on until I literally couldn’t any more , and now due to having 3 discs out the back of my neck removed and replaced with nuts and bolts , due to them getting them out my bottom 2 disc in my back have crumbled away and can hardly walk as the pain it to much and always have to knee because bending my back is the only way to help with the pain as trying to stand up straight is impossible due to pain and always walk with bending my back I look really stupid and I hardly go through the door now due to this reason only for important appointments ie : doctor , hospital
