October Half Term

My daughter 8 has 2 weeks half term coming up this October. She wants to go to the zoo, park and 360. What is everyone else planning for the half term?

Hmm prob Dubai or Lanzarote likely to Lanzarote.

My DC are 10 & 6. One day they'll be at PILs; another I'm booking them on a Mini Marine Biologist session at the aquarium; probably do a few Halloween trails/activities. We have tickets for Steve Backshall's Ocean tour & on Halloween we're going to friends Halloween party & then trick or treating.

Childminder the first week, then his dads a coulle
of days whilst im
work. I have wed-sat off the second week so Halloween stuff and probably a day trip

Conker picking, carving pumpkins, setting up the Halloween party and attending Halloween parties, trick or treating.
Probably also playing football, park trips and having friends round for tea.

How come you have 2 weeks half term?

Really common for private schools, but in my area many state schools also take 2 weeks in October.

I have one primary school child and one secondary school. Their schools have decided to have different half terms despite being in the same London Borough (they can because they are voluntary aided).

Total nightmare.

Obviously secondary school child doesn’t need childcare but I’d quite like to spend some time with her… And obviously we can’t go away anywhere as a family.

Have taken two days off to be with eldest (she’s busy the other three days) and three with the youngest - other two he’s going to holiday club which is fine.

But honestly.

Youngest and I are going to LEGOLAND one day which will be nice.

I’ve never hear of the Mini Marine Biologist session but it sounds amazing!

I saw Steve Backshall’s tour which also looks fabulous but sadly the week ti comes to us, my younger one, who is a huge fan of this sort of thing, is away on a school trip!

They are going to grandparents for the middle part, I have an extra day off and the day imm working they’ll be sorting themselves out (I wfh)
