hello!

so I was dropping my children off at school when I over heard a mum telling a teacher that her son is returning today- he had covid but feels better now.

i later find out from a mutal friend that she took her son out to go on holiday, didn’t have covid and obviously hasn’t told the school this.

what would you do? Keep your mouth shut or report?

i just find it really irritating as she’s always later bringing her son (usually because she’s in the pubs the night before) and I don’t think it’s fair to lie about illness.

I know it has nothing to do with me, I was just asking for opinions.

Lying about a transmittable illness, I would.

If late because of drinking the night before, is the parent driving? Even more of a concern if the case.

The school will know. They’re not stupid.

I think lots of people tell the school their kids are ill when they are not for one reason or another. More are likely to do so with the tightening up on fines for unauthorised attendance. I am keeping my two of this Thursday and Friday for a specific reason and have every intention of telling the school they are both sick.
