What are you doing with your 10 year olds this summer?

I have a 10 year old DS and 6 year old DD and it is now increasingly hard to keep them both happy with the age gap. Yesterday I took them to a local inflatables event with DD's classmates which I'll admit may have been a little young for DS and he moaned within 5 minutes of arriving.

I have a WhatsApp group for the year 1 mums but due to Covid and other factors know only two of the year 5 mums so it's hard to arrange stuff for DS.

DS has an Xbox but is limited to 2 hours a day. He loves collecting Matchbox cars and cars in general and both kids are very creative. We've already signed up to the summer reading challenge...

Wondering how others entertain their 10 year olds in the holidays?

I have a nearly 10 year old and we're in NI so holidays started long ago for us! 😅

We've been to a local castle, spent afternoons in various play parks, invited friends round for play dates, summer schemes in local churches, brought board games to our favourite cafe, forest walks, swimming pool, camping, visiting grandparents. Planning to go to Planetarium and continue with the above.
