If you're not going on holiday

Then what are you going to do during the school holidays? We don't have any plans and I'm not sure if we will make any, so if you're not going on holiday, I'd love some inspiration for summer activities

I’m not planning on going away this summer so our family plan is lots of park trips, local zoos, visit the Museums, out for meals, picnics, movie nights with lots of snacks etc. We’ll also have game nights- board games and then the kids will make up their own quizzes for quiz night. On rainy days we might have very lazy days where we don’t get out of pjs.
Depends what age your children are- the may love playing in the garden with some messy sensory play and going food shopping but picking what they are having for dinner.

I'm working two days a week throughout so that leaves the kids with their dad one day and with grandparents one day. Hoping that will break the weeks up. We plan to do a few days trips to zoos/theme parks etc. Then we will go swimming, play in the garden, park trips, dog walks, exploring local woods/picnics/libraries/local science museum. I'm also planning to get some work books and do some reading for home learning to add a bit of structure in the day.

Feeling a bit demoralised - loads of parents at the moment seem to be taking their kids out of school in term time, several taken kids to Disney, abroad etc. I know the holidays are cheaper then but still don’t know how people afford it. I wish I could! Said parents will also be going away during the actual holidays as well. Me and OH work hard but unfortunately not able to afford going away. Planning on a ‘big’ day out once a week, maybe to a theme park, zoo, farm, swimming.
