Term time holiday

I'm just confused on the 10 session fine meaning . Would I get fined if kids missed Friday , Monday is inset and off Tuesday and go back on Wednesday . So 2 days off .
Hate this rule ! Simply cannot afford summer holiday holidays , prices are insane so we Haven't been abroad in years although can afford term time holidays! Wish everyone was given a 1 week allowance !

Taking Friday and Tuesday off is 4 sessions - no problem so go on holiday … unless it’s exam time ( discounting SATS)

From September, Inset counts in the calculation from what I've read. So your example would be 3 days

So do you only get a fine if it's 5 days in a row ?

Yes 5 days in a row, 2 ‘sessions’ per day.

@MimiBeee if the rule at your school is 10 sessions in a row then yes, you'd be fine. If it's 10 sessions but doesn't state in a row then if they've had any other absence that could count towards the 10. All schools have different rules.
