This is absolutely ridiculous! Why are we as responsible parents being punished for taking our kids on annual holidays when holiday firms make a killing in term time! Why are we bowing down to local authorities and asking their permission to take our kids out of school?
Where are our rights when our kids miss out on education due to teacher strikes? My daughter is 8 years old and missed the best part of a year due to covid and now is being rushed through education as are many others to get them up to speed.
As a responsible parent i make the decision on whether my daughter can take time away from education not the local authority! I will not be paying any fines for taking my child away from something which i pay for already through my taxes! Rant over.
