UK holidays

Hi all,

A few questions from me:

  1. Do I need to inform my ex if I am taking our child on holiday in the UK?

  2. Also what constitutes as a holiday? Are weekend trips considered holidays if this fails in contact time?

  3. I know I have to share details with holidays abroad but could anyone confirm the bare essential details required to be shared for holidays abroad?

Thank you

I think when it comes to holidays in the UK, it would depend what your relationship is like with your ex.
I'd tell him out of common courtesy but if he's abusive and likely to try and stop you, then that's completely different.

My ex is extremely controlling and abusive. As it happens they say I am but they refuse to let me know anything about their time with the child but expect every tiny detail from me which I feel is unfair, unreasonable and extreme.

You don't need to tell them, you can take your children anywhere in Uk, unless it impacts their usual days or time with them, then you should agree it.

'Demands to know' you don't have to tell them anything. I would keep things factual and general and out of courtesy give them a vague plan eg we're going to be away in Cornwall but don't give the address etc
