Hello
I’m looking for ideas to entertain five children, one nine year old , one seven year old , two six year old and a five year old , unfortunately my car is not big enough to take them out to playgrounds so it must be at home
thank you 😊

Board games :) snake and ladders, Ludo, scrabble, operation etc etc :)

Or monopoly. I know 5 yr old may find it hard but you can always sit with them and guide them. It will be fun!

Lots of big empty cardboard boxes and some sheets- tell them to make a den.

Games that they can all access, Kerplunk, Jenga, That sort of thing.

Ask them to create a show for you- can be dancing singing karate anything but they need to rehearse it and teach the others how to do it, and make a programme and tickets.

If you've got space, they could create an assault course.

Let them make their own sandwiches for lunch- you can put out the materials and let them build their own.

Don't worry about the mess and let them get on with it.

The idea should be that you are not entertaining them but supporting them entertain themselves.

Treasure hunt! Write slightly cryptic clues for the older ones, use photos of objects for the younger ones. You could have them discover a challenge at each ‘clue discovery point’ before they’re allowed the next clue…such as hop on one leg 10 times, pretend to be a lion, or draw a unicorn…the options are endless and you can come up with some real time wasters.

Treasure hunt and /or scavenger hunt.
Balloon dare! Kids love it. Slip a challenge into a balloon and blow it up. Repeat 20 times. Tape a pin/tack onto a stick and each child has to pop a balloon and do what it says, eg hop around the room, roar like a lion, eat 5 maltesers in a row, have an ice cube dropped down your back...I tend to put in quite a few that involve eating something nice like a spoon of honey or jam. You can make the game longer by making up a little chant or song everyone has to sing between each turn. Kids LOVE it!
