Hi all,

Looking at maybe moving from London to Gomshall & would love some insights.

I’m 29 & husband 33, we have a dog and im pregnant with our first baby. We do love the area we are in now (Barnes) but it is extortionate to upsize and just not feasible unless we found somewhere very cramped with limited outdoor space etc.

I LOVE countryside living and rural life (horses, chickens, etc etc). My husband does too but he also does love London! His dad and brother live in Shere so we know the area well.

Although I want a rural life, it doesn’t seem like there are any mum clubs / baby activities nearby at all? I’d also be further from my mum, so I guess I’m trying to weigh up pros and cons.

so..a long winded way of asking if anyone here with babies / young children live nearby and have any insights?

Both are lovely. No stations though, if you need to commute by train. Nearest towns would be Guildford or Dorking

Gomshall and Shere are hardly rural living. Surrey commuter belt. There is a station at Gomshall but no direct trains to London.

when I say rural I mean within an okay distance to London! If I had it my way, we’d move to Devon 😅

also the house we are looking at is rural
