Does anyone know what Knighton is like?

We are ho9use hunting and have seen somewhere in Knighton on the Welsh boarder. I'm hearing mixed reviews so I'd be interested in anyone's thoughts who's experienced it?

Thank you!

It is reasonably pretty and quiet.
Lots of social housing for a small area.
Dire roads and not really close to anywhere, airport, general hospital, shopping centre etc
Primary school is good, nearest high school not great, if that is a consideration for you.
GP surgery is very efficient.

Cannot comment on what Knighton is like to live in, but it’s a nice area if you like peace and quiet, rural scenery and walking - as it’s on Offa’s Dyke.

My sense would be that there’s more going on in Kington (to the South) and Clun (to the North) than there is in Knighton - but that could be unfair of me.

You need to be aware that the railway through Knighton is on the ‘Heart of Wales’ line which has a poor track record for cancellations and punctuality. Scenic to ride, but you wouldn’t want to rely on it.

Done a fair bit of rally driving there - great fun. Wouldn’t want to live there.
