We're looking to move to a rural part of South Lanarkshire with our teenage children - who are at uni/going to uni this year. Looking at Forth and the surrounding areas. Looking for info regarding living in smaller communities, positives and negatives about Forth and nearby villages.

I have lived in Forth for nearly 40 years.

It's a quiet village, nothing really for younger people. Having a car/learning to drive is a must. 1 bus a hour to Lanark ( where there is a train station) 1 bus a hour to Livingston but that bus takes like 1 hr for a 20 odd minute journey.

Takeaways - 1 chip shop & 1 Chinese.
Shops - A co-op/small Morrisons and 2 paper shops.
Pubs - 1 pub and a British Legion/Masonic Hall.

Weather - When it snows, it really snows ( Like today) Few times in the last decade, we have been snowed in for a few days.
