We are looking at relocating to North Wales from Sussex
(ideally not more than 30 mins from Wrexham), as my dad lives there.

My job and my partners jobs are transferable, so we just need somewhere lovely to live!

We also have a nearly 2 year old!

Please could anyone suggest anywhere safe and nice to live?!
So far we like the idea of Mold…

Many thanks !🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿✨🤍

Oswestry on the Wales/Shropshire border is a great location for families too. Nice market town, beautiful countryside and 25min from Wrexham.

Rossett is nice and also Shropshire as mentioned by a previous poster.

Mold isn’t bad, some nice bits, some less nice. Ruthin is nice too.

Buckley, Deeside, Conner’s Quay, Flint etc are bloody awful, so steer clear of that area.

Oswestry in Shropshire has the advantage of not being Welsh NHS, which is basically shite. If anyone in your family has any health issues I’d keep to the English side of the border. (The Maelor is godawful, for example)

Lots of lovely villages around Mold - Cilcain was recently listed as one of the best villages to live in.

Ludlow shropshire is lovely

Well yes it is, but it's also a bloody long way from Wrexham!

Area between Mold and Ruthin, lots of nice villages - Cilcain, Pantymwyn and more rural places nearer Ruthin and beyond. Easy to get to Wrexham and A55 for Chester.
Pulford, Rossett on Chester side of Wrexham. Nice areas but not really North Wales.
I am from NE Wales and grew up there. Love the area but when your DC is older, more rural becomes more of an issue.

The Maelor villages are all nice and safe - Hanmer, Bronington, Overton, Bangor-on-Dee, Worthenbury. Ellesmere's a good little town if you'd prefer to be on the English side of the border, or Wem but that's just over half an hour from Wrexham.
