Looking for people's views and experience of living in Sudbury in Suffolk. As potentially looking to move there. Thank you Smile

My DF lives in one of the villages between Sudbury and Halstead. Sudbury has most of the amenities you would expect in a small town. Decent range of shops - supermarkets from Lidl to Waitrose.

A nice area - Gainsborough country. Dedham vale (Constable) is not far. Long Melford and Lavenham are picturesque villages nearby.

There is a rail line, but to get to London, I think you have to change at Marks Tey (which is on the Colchester/Ipswich/Norwich main line).

Personally I'd prefer to live in one of the nearby villages and drive in - but if living in a small town is your preference, I think you could do a lot worse than Sudbury.
