We are looking to move and relocate and has found wakefield would suit us geography wise.

We're going up in a few weeks and wondering if anyone had any areas we should specifically look at?

I know Tingley is on the list.

I'd like semi rural, we love walking and dog walks. Children are all aged 3 months to 13. Husband has a job lined up and I need to be close to a hospital as I'm a paediatric nurse.

Love cottages and traditional properties if that helps.

Thanks

Notton x

If you like rural (and can drive as very limited public transport) Woolley is gorgeous or Woolley Grange is slightly more budget friendly but a newish estate.

Notton is a nice village as is Newmillardam. West Bretton has the sculpture park which has some gorgeous works.

Hanging Heaton is nice, and I can second Newmillerdam. I quite like Batley, but it is a bit rough around the edges. Dewsbury town centre is a tragedy - so very poverty-stricken and run down (tragic because it used to be a pretty, thriving, prosperous little town) and there are some really rough areas on the outskirts of Dewsbury. On the other hand, if you need work in a hospital, Dewsbury hospital is a very friendly place, with lovely staff (that's a perspective from the point of view of patients and visitors; I don't have experience of working there).

High Ackworth is nice its close to Pontefract where there is a hospital and also Junction 32 shopping outlet and Xscape which has a cinema, dry ski slope and many other things.

I'm not far from Notton or West Bretton, both lovely villages with decent sized traditional properties.

Rothwell Leeds postcode but very close to those on your list and Robin Hood Wakefield postcode.
