Living in a static caravan

Hi All,
I was forced to accept and move to a static caravan, due to being targeted by a large gang in my home city for unknown reasons.
The only thing available that was available, accepted DSS and my therapy dog... Was a static caravan on a different county(who haven't even asked for my ID)..so I accepted it as an impulse decision as I had nowhere else to live... I've been here 2 months now and need to move as its highly unsuitable, for a regular person, let alone the health issues I have...
I've looked everywhere but cannot find anyone that has had experience with this, and was wondering if anyone has any helpful suggestions about things I could do or people I could contact, to get me rehoused.

Put your name down on the council house list.

I assume she means DSS as in the really old name for housing benefit

On a fucking anonymous internet forum? Why should she be honest? If there’s an element of truth to her reasons for ending up in this situation then it would be a very bad idea to give the whole story online.

Be honest? Funniest thing is that I am being honest. Imagine walking out your property to walk your dog, to find 30 drug addicts watching you.... To then have 2 of the say "THEY'RE HERE"...and pointing straight at you....
I lived in York which is not a very nice city and known for violence and weapons .... Not that it ever hits the papers... But when you tell me to be honest, what would make you think in lying??
I have no clue who ANY of these people are. Hence I'm now in a very vulnerable and shit situation.

I'd actually appreciate help.. I'm scared, depressed, and have no idea what to do next.

Im on a council list, I've rang the GP who I cannot get in to see, amd contacted occupational therapy

How are things now?

charlieinthehaystack · 19/11/2024 11:31

i have lived in statics and to be honest better than the house i live in now! I am assuming that there must be something major wrong with it? the only option bar private renting is to apply to local housing association for housing but they often are so short will only offer a room in a b and b. as a heads up if you just up and left your last place they may say you made yourself homeless so really you need to prove the anti social behaviour as they wont help sometimes just moving area does not help too much too unless you have good reason such as family etc moving because of others they may say go back to your area such as moving to a different part of the city or town. sorry i dont agree but that has happened before

CwmYoy · 19/11/2024 11:33

What is making it unsuitable, OP?

Is there an issue with the caravan? I lived in one for a while and it was fine but was well insulated and warm.
are you on the outskirts of York now? Maybe a different site with a similar living situation?
