Bat survey

We are planning to make some modificatio to our rurual house. The first bat survey is done and the result is... we have bats.

How the second quote for the nocturnal emergency survey has just came in and we are being quoted £780+VAT for two surveys, £260+VAT for the report.

Does this sounds about alright? It seems ridiculously high for me...

Sorry, u'll end up spending thousands. We had this too. Bat ecologists will need to visit at different times of day, stay several hrs to count bats as part of your bat survey. If they establish that bats are living within the property, they'll give u specific non-breeding mnths when demolition can occur, of course supervised by them. U'll have to buy & erect specfic 'bat boxes' in trees too.

Thanks for the reply, yes just found out how expensive this is... we were told there are bats in the roof area last year and now just waiting to do 2 more surveys in May/June. Unfortunatly the roof was leaking this winter so we got no choice but to re-do the roof this year. A bit scared to think of the cost!

We have spent over £10K so far to get to the point of the bat mitigation report. Current sat waiting on planning after the county ecologist initially misread the bat report didn't ask fir the mitigation report till the day before planning was due to be determined. The ecologist has now had the mitigation report for over 2 months with no progress.

Yeah that's cheap
