Hi!

Talk to me about living in Rutland please!

Considering a relocation from the south east.

Good primary and secondary schools are a must

Thanks!

I live here, it’s fabulous. All the schools are great.
It’s beautiful, easy to get everywhere and lovely and quiet. We live in a small village near Rutland Water.

It’s not especially cheap though, I moved from South East and prices have shot up since.

A reason why we want to get in while we still can!

Thanks for the reply; I've read many good things! Grin

Our neighbour is the Earl of Gainsborough, Lord Campden.

It’s a good place for people spotting especially at the weekends as lots of second homes. Kate Adie used to have a cottage up the lane and I see Kate Gemmell, Rowan Atkinson, Tom Davis and Rebecca Vardy all the time in town.

But we want to keep it special and not shout about it. It’s as beautiful as the Cotswolds with less wankery. I can say that as I was actually Cotswolds born.

To be fair if you like polo or hunting it’s very much like a Jilly Cooper novel.
But it’s also very normal too. Lots of nice pubs. And we have actually had pretty good NHS experiences of late, I think being small helps. It’s definitely a good standard of living.
It’s a bit of a bugger for a good supermarket or a takeaway though, that’s the trade off for a quiet life. Wouldn’t change it.

This is all sounding great.

What's life like for teens? My kids are just finishing primary so that phase is coming up soon for us.

The school websites for the secondaries and the ofsted reports look good for all, so thats a massive bonus.

Is there a swimming pool, scouts/guides, local sports teams to join?

We live near the coast now so Rutland water is massive draw for us

Thanks!
