Hi Everyone
We currently live in Southampton with our 12yr old son and 9yr old daughter. We are very much considering selling up and moving to somewhere very rural. I work within a group where I could possibly be relocated to houndstone business park in Yeovil, however, don't want to live in the centre of Yeovil. I know what we are looking for but just don't know the surrounding areas.... this is what we would like:
1 hours drive of Houndstone Business Park
Rural location / farmhouse type property with no neighbours!
Lots of fields
Good primary and secondary schools
I welcome people's advice on possible locations that meet this criteria so I can start trying to hone in on possible locations!
Thanks so much x

What you are looking for is achievable but at a price. Somerset villages are really quite expensive. An hour's commute to Yeovil will
Only give you a 25-mile radius to the north and north west, a little further going south but then you are looking at higher prices for property as you would then be looking at Dorset and west into Devon. Some of the Wiltshire villages could be reached in an hour although all via the A303 which has been nightmarish throughout the summer but is due for improvement soon.

If your budget for what you are looking for is 600k you will struggle but if 8-900k it would be achievable.

Ilminster every time!! (Because I live here and it's perfect) we live in two acres of our own land, admist farm land, but.....can walk in to town in 10 mins!!! There is a butchers, bakers, fruit amd veg shop, amazing wine shop, as well as art galleries, coffee shops, farm shops, and the Minster! It's beautiful.
It's also near to the Dorset coast, and Exeter, Taunton and Yeovil.
