Hello I need some help. My boyfriend and I will be saving a few more months till we start house hunting. We want to get a mortgage but are struggling on where. I have very little knowledge on Somerset and no knowledge at all on Wiltshire. We have family in Essex, London, Somerset, Swindon and Devon but we prefer to be somewhat in the middle of all these people. We did decide on Swindon but I am constantly seeing nasty things online about that town even though I have been there myself and have enjoyed it (however I only went to the west part of Swindon). My boyfriends family live around wells in Somerset and he really likes it there. We both come from London so I’m really unsure on the idea of going from a crazy city to a tiny village with very little to do. I need your guys help on some suggestions on nice towns to live. In my new area i’d like:
- a uni and college nearby
- nice homes for around 250K
- not a small village
- have some amusements nearby
- good shopping
- transport links (coaches and train station)
- things to do with kids
I know I’m asking for too much but If you guys know of any town/city that ticks those boxes then please let me know as I am going absolutely mental and is Swindon really that bad and should I just look else where? Ta x
