Moving from London to Faversham

In need of advice - Decided to move out of London now both hubby and I can work from home most of the week. Offered on a property in a village near Faversham. Lovely property with big garden near about 6 other houses but now wondering if it will be too 'quiet'/'boring' for son who is currently 10 when he gets into teenage years.

Also advice on secondary schools there welcome. Thanks!

I live in a village just outside Faversham, bus services are pretty rubbish round here so unless you are near a train station you will probably be a taxi service for your son.

Good choice of secondaries in Canterbury, would only recommend the grammer (queen elizabeths) in Faversham itself.

Is the Abbey School ok or one to avoid. Don't want to put all our eggs in one basket with the Kent Test result. I had assumed we would be out of the catchment for Canterbury secondaries?

You can send your children to school in Canterbury or Sittingbourne if you don't like the Abbey School. The villages are not where I'd choose to live as you can't pop out to get milk and as PP said, public transport isn't good. The village schools are excellent though. It's far better being in Faversham itself as you can walk home after a meal out or a night in the pub. A stroll to the market is lovely too. It's a friendly community and there's some lovely properties walking distance from everything including the station.
