Hi!
We'd like to move from Yorkshire to the West Country!
But we need to know what the large cities/towns are (apart from Bristol and Bath)
especially ones in and closer to Devon direction, as we need to be close to 'civilisation' as I don't drive due to health issues and need a bus service.
Is this even possible down there?
What towns/large places should we focus on?

Exeter?

Exeter and Plymouth? Honestly, I'd stay in Yorkshire! I migrated in the opposite direction, it's much, much better.

Ah really? Why do you say that?

Economically, culturally, politically Yorkshire has the variety Devon doesn't, and it has infrastructure that Devon doesn't. I couldn't afford to earn what I do and live in Devon. I come from a damp, cold part of Devon, so can't complain of the weather up here. However, Devon definitely wins on coastline.
There are definitely more constructive posters on the subject on Mumsnet than me though, worth searching previous posts on the subject.

Ah I see! In terms of culturally and politically, is it more conservative and less diverse down there? And less wealthy? Is that what you mean? Would like to avoid being around much deprivation if possible

I live on the Somerset/Devon border. There is no bus service to speak of I'm afraid. Nearest city is Exeter but that's half an hour's drive. Do you want to know about local towns? Taunton, Tiverton, Wellington, Cullompton and Honiton would be the largest in between Bristol and Exeter.
