Relocating to Bristol area

Hi all! We are relocating to UK, currently living in Spain. Need some advice as I am lost atm. My dream home would be a detached house in a rural setting but DH has to be within a 1-hour drive to Bristol airport. Is it impossible to find somewhere rural? We have a lot of pets so need a quiet area. Can anyone point me in the right location please? I have been scouring online for days now but all I find are commuter towns and residential areas, which I really wouldn't want. Is this an impossible find?

Unless you need to get into Bristol on a regular basis I would look as far away as the Bridgwater area and generally around the south of the city. Crossing Bristol in traffic can be a nightmare and the airport is well outside the city to the south.
Parking at the airport is expensive and the only public transport is taxis and buses (I know that there is a service from Temple Meads station and another from Bath that stops in Saltford and Keynsham and then skirts the south of Bristol).

Goodness, you could go all the way to Devon and still be about an hour's drive from the airport! Well maybe not quite Devon, but definitely rural Somerset, especially if you look along the M5 corridor. Is it just access to the airport you need, or access to Bristol itself as well?
