North Yorkshire living

Good morning mumsnet,

When Covid has passed my DH and our DDs want to travel the UK and find some new small towns and villages, and if possible, a nice place to relocate with a character property and a patch of land.

I have heard that school standards around the Dales and parts of North Yorkshire are of a good standard and that quality of life is high.

For those who live there or know a lot about it, could you please elaborate on why you think it is a good place to live or not?

Thanks 😊

Just wondering how you got on and where you ended up! I have a similar move on the cards with a year 13 son from the south and would be great to know how things are for your son as it’s my main worry!

Hi 👋

Sad to say we are still stuck in the place I can't stand. 2 sales fell through a year apart and I am gutted 😢

We are looking at places over the county in Buckinghamshire but I am not especially jazzed. I am still.open to something more exciting but we shall see.

Where are you looking? Is your boy excited?

Looking north/West Yorkshire areas, he’s excited but I don’t think he’s thinking as deeply about it as me, I worry about him fitting in and finding “his people” as a teen/young adult. I’ve looked at so many threads on here today but none seem to have the ending of what happened 😂

Sorry. The story is still in process, ongoing. I will let you know the ending when it's here.

I'm sure your boy will find his crew. They always find a way.

Good Luck on your house hunt!
