Insect nets for windows

I have a phobia of Daddy-long-legs/crane flies (those horrid floating insects whose main aim is to have their legs break off in your hair) Shudder It's going to be a bad year for them, and it's started already! I can't bear it. I want to get insect nets for my bedroom window, so I can still breathe/not melt at night, without them coming in to join the party. I'm terribly afraid though that they'll actually get stuck to the net and break apart trying to extricate themselves. Does anyone know from experience if this happens? Also the metal bar thing that holds the window open so it does't bang in the breeze means I can't have a net with a rigid frame, so can anyone recommend an alternative? Thanks!

I’ve got black mosquito netting fixed on with sticky backed Velcro - came in a kit from the DIY store and you can get them on eBay:

The black fabric is virtually invisible, though it does gather dust. I’ve had no trapped, legless insects so far.

I have the same but bought it in white. I have my Windows open all day no bugs.
