Braintree Or Witham?

Hey guys,

I'm relocating from London and I was just wondering which area would be the best place to live? I also have children so schools would be a big factor too. I've heard Braintree is nice but no so sure about Witham, mainly silver end to be specific. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I live in Chelmsford and I've also lived in Braintree in the past.
If I had to choose, it would be Chelmsford only because of the closeness in commuting into London for work and the more frequent trains.
Braintree is a nice village to live in, but it's a little more on the quiet side, I had no issues when my family lived there apart from the trains, the commute into London wasn't the best with 1 train every hour, not sure if its changed now.
I am also looking into SilverEnd, Redrow have some nice houses built , but I hear the area has a bit of a rep so not sure as I have little ones.
