Hi there, my boyfriend and I for the past year and half have been saving up money for deposit on a house. We still have a little more to save but are just so stuck where we want to live. We both currently live in south London and 1. Cannot afford it here and 2. Would prefer to relocate somewhere else. A lot of my boyfriends family relocated to wells and surrounding villages over the years so he has quite a lot of family down there. He’s told me few times he wouldn’t mind living there but when I go there to see his family I’m never too sure on if I like it. It is beautiful don’t get me wrong but I don’t see it as somewhere where I’d want to raise a family it seems like there isn’t a lot going on. If you want to go cinema, or swimming or anything leisure you have to drive a little to do something. Snow days I can imagine down that end is horrific. My boyfriend is looking for accounting jobs whereas I’m looking for kitchen designer jobs so we need somewhere that has these sort of job opportunities. It’s a little pricier over there than other places I’ve seen for a 2 bed house. What are primary/secondary schools like. What is everyday life like. What is the city like in all seasons/weather. Is there things to do for teenagers or will they be very bored. Do you like living there.
I was looking to move somewhere like Swindon because of it having a lot of everything we wanted/needed and I have family there and is only an hour drive to wells. I guess it’s between small village life or big busy town life. Thanks
